What Does Rice Have To Do With Politics?

Published by eclecticbird at 10:09 am under Fun Edit This

Well unless you are talking about Condoleeza Rice…technically nothing.   But if you think politicians should move our country in the direction of taking care of others (through welfare/ helping out in other countries etc) then rice is what it is all about.  As in food.  Ok I’m stretching but dang there is this really cool site that does two of my favorite things and it’s my blog and I’ll share if I want to ;)

Free Rice does two things.  First it can help improve your vocabulary (dang do those words get hard).  Second, every time you prove you do know a word or fact (there are actually settings that let you flex your vocab skills in a variety of languages, multiplication tables, geography, grammar, famous paintings, and chemistry OMG I love it) the site donates 10 grains of rice through the UN world food program.  How fabulous is that?

So…if you are tired about all the whining and finger pointing going on in the election and you want to see REAL change (seems to be the IT word this season) head on over and spend some time playing a game that is educational, fun, and a measurable step to reaching your (possibly) political goals.

OH…they even keep track and you get to see your rice filling up a bowl…sooooo cool

Did you check it out?  Did you like it?  Do you have any other sites that help you take action on issues that matter to you?

I love this site. You can get a button for your blog too, though strangely enough, not from their actual website.
