McCain Acceptance Speech - eek

Published by eclecticbird at 9:38 pm under John McCain, Republican Edit This

Wow…I thought Biden was bad.  ::sigh::  He really isn’t the speaker Obama is.  I mean really, really isn’t.  And that smile…does come off a bit fake, he should just stick with looking imposing.  AND the gold tie with the green background… not so much.  Seriously that tie is horrid. (off topic and not politically relevant but ICK)

I do like that he said he respected Obama and followers and that bit about there being more in common as Americans etc.  was really nice.  Heh…but we’re going to win…but we’ll work with you after we win.  Gave me a chuckle.

Ok..if you missed it here it is :)

What did you think about his speech?  Were you underwhelmed with his speaking ability?  Does it change who you are going to vote for?  Now that you’ve heard his big speech and Obama’s do you know who you are going to vote for?

I think it was in the audio clip I listened to where Ron Reagan Jr said that his mother Nancy admired Obama that also stated that Nancy Reagan thought that much of Obama’s ability to control with his speech is because he writes many of them himself and therefore they come from the heart, and she can tell which ones were scripted for him. I think all the other candidates are scripted and I guess that’s part of why they’re underwhelming. Sarah Palin’s was different because a woman was finally able to get some feminine sass into the speech - unfortunately for the most part the sass came over as snark in my opinion, but they were on the right path. Just need to turn it down a notch. As for the others, perhaps they need to either start writing their own speeches, or work with their writers more closely so that the writer gets a better understanding of the person who will be speaking the words.
