McCain Tells Congress to Get Back to Work

Published by eclecticbird at 9:30 pm under John McCain Edit This

Call ‘em out!  Tell ‘em to get on with business! I swear, Congress gets more breaks than a KitKat.  But back to the story…McCain says Congress should come back into session and get busy and he says he’ll go off the campaign trail to help them get on with it.  I think that is fantastic.  Not only the telling them to get back to work but also the fact that he’s willing to practice what he preaches by getting back to doing the job he’s being paid to do.  So that’s the bit that I really liked…now for what else he had to say.

McCain was speaking at a factory and started talking about the energy crisis.  He talks about the different types of new fuels that we should be working on but then he goes on to talk about the OTHER things we should get busy on.  Like nuclear fuel (which, I really don’t like and if you can explain it in a way that would make me like it, I’d appreciate it) and offshore drilling (which I’m more okay with).  I love that everyone is working on energy independence, really.  But dang… I’m one of those people (and from the looks I get, I may be the only one anywhere) that wants all the details.

The Democrats would rather have campaign issues than fix problems. The Republicans, if they were in power in Congress, would be doing the same thing. I hope everyone gets to work in September. Frankly though, they’ll want to leave Washington again fast to campaign for re-election.
