Hypocritical Statements by Obama and His View on the Economy

Published by eclecticbird at 12:56 pm under Barack Obama, Democrat Edit This

Today Barack Obama was in St. Augustine, Florida.  He talked about Florida being in a recession for the first time in sixteen years and questioned if Floridians wanted change or the same old thing, and the same failed policies.  Well now, that isn’t the point is it?  He isn’t running against Bush and his failed policies he is running (primarily, don’t flip out b/c I don’t list everyone) against McCain.  He isn’t playing fair to say that McCain and Bush are the same…fear mongering from the man who yaps about it not being fair when the same tactics are used on him.  Grrr.  I’m behind him when he says it isn’t right for people to rattle the sabers against his color, supposed faith etc.  One, because those rumors aren’t true and two (this is my beef not his) because even if they are true it shouldn’t freaking matter.  So the reason that little implication that he was competing against the current administration just ticked me off.  It was hypocritical.  McCain has views that clearly oppose those of Bush.  They are not the same.

Moving on…   He does admit that no matter who had been in office for the last eight years jobs would have been harder to hold on to because of the global economy.  (odd after the slamming of the current administration, but at least it is true) He also says that we have to work to compete globally and to prepare our children for a global economy.  I completely agree and would LOVE to see his plan to accomplish this. How is he planning on turning around an education system that is antiquated and detached from reality?  I want to see steps here people, from both campaigns about what they plan on doing, exactly, to turn around the economy and bring our standards in education up to par with the rest of the world.  Quit blowing smoke and give me the details.
