The Race Card

What is the race card?  If Obama pointing out the obvious is ‘the race card’ then what was it when Hillary pointed out she was a chick?  The sex card?  How about if we call it the American public is too stupid to notice the obvious so I’ll bring it up again and again card?  Because really, before any of this latest finger pointing I knew Obama was black and H. Clinton was a chick.  Big freaking deal!  What color you are (or what sex you are for that matter) doesn’t change anything.  You either have good ideas or you don’t.  Frankly, the little spat is making me think less of both candidates.  Obama for feeling the need to point out he is black and McCain for pointing out that Obama pointed it out.  I feel insulted.  What do you think about the race card debacle?

P.S.

I’m feeling a little bitter towards CNN for this bit of journalistic trash as well.   An inflammatory headline with a few disjointed quotes.  Bah. Is it me, or does a nice isolated cave sound good to anyone else?

Race has been a major issue in this campaign, but I have never seen it stem from Obama himself. Instead I’ve seen rivals pointing to videos of Reverend Wright and terrorist fist bumps, italicizing his middle name, all the while yelling, “See? He’s not like us!”
