Why I Love the New Yorker

Published by eclecticbird at 11:35 pm under Barack Obama, What?! Edit This

I love the New Yorker because the editors over there seem to be more of a smart ass than yours truly.  Didn’t think that such a thing was possible in main stream media, but I’m always willing to admit when I’m wrong.   Now I’ve only seen a blog about it which you can check out here but on that blog they have the cover picture that I’m pretty sure will be stirring up the media pretty soon.  What am I talking about?  The cover shows every stupid thing that has ever been said in regards to Obama in a satirical cartoon.  It even makes fun of the infamous “hand bump” I was joking about a bit ago.  I’ll let you go read the blog but DANG.  The Obama camp and the McCain camp have already issued statements saying it is in bad taste blah blah blah.  Whatever!  I think it is hilarious.  It points out the absurdity that the media has focused on for the majority of the campaign.  It looks to me like the New Yorker gets it.  By it I mean me and my sense of humor and my understanding of the crazy world of politics.  Dang I have to get my hands on a copy of that issue!  Speaking of a copy of that issue you can check out the New Yorker website here.

Take time now to go read the other blog and tell me what you think.  Do you think Obama and McCain are stupid for the comments (the inappropriateness of the New Yorker) like I do?  Do you think the artwork actually is inappropriate?

I completely agree with you. It’s called satire; that’s what The New Yorker does best. I’m pretty sure both Obama and McCain over it. It’s the media that needs to let it go. I thought the cover was hilarious!
