McCain is too Old and Obama is too Black
Hello to all of my conservative McCain fans that stopped by because the title riled you up. I’m not bashing your boy just commenting on this CNN poll ;) As for you Obama fans the same goes for you. I like/dislike both of them equally (for the moment anyway) and am just making fun of the stupidity of the media and the people who responded to this poll.
McCain will be 72 years old when/if he becomes president. Read that again. Seventy-two. He looks remarkably good for his age, don’t you think? I thought he was in his sixties for some reason. A bit of math now…after four years in office he’ll be 76 another four and he’ll be 80. Hmmm….what is the average life expectancy for men nowadays? I’m waaaay ahead of you, love. In the United States the average life expectancy for a man is around 75 years. Hmmmmmm. So that means he’s going to die in three years. OH NO! I can’t vote for him now! What? Oh it is average life expectancy you say? What is average again? OH. You mean his age doesn’t really matter and can’t tell me how many years he has left to live? Well dang, I guess I’ll have to go back paying attention to where he stands on those pesky issues again.
The rest of the poll informed me that Obama was black! No way. Get out. Well then he can’t be president, it is the White House after all. Everyone knows that the color of your skin directly affects how well you do your job, right? I mean you might as well make a woman president, and you know how inferior women are. What do you mean race is irrelevant? Well dang, I guess I’ll have to go back to paying attention to where he stands on those darned issues too.
I have to tell you this pissed me off (I hide it well, don’t I?). I can’t find any quality information on specific plans on practically anything (lip service and sound bites yes, actual plans with specific details not so much) but CNN can uncover that 23% of Americans thing the old man is too old and 8% of Americans think the black man is too black to be effective as President. So nice to know that serious news organizations do such a bang up job of investigative journalism.
The media doesn’t know how to report on the issues…so I guess McCann better do something about his age and Obama better do something about his blackness fast.
I love the satirical fun and did laugh out loud at the wit..I also have to say what you uncovered a beautiful example of what happens when Political Science replaces Political Philosophy…it is really hard to reduce those pesky “Issues” into an operationalized variable.
